Golden Eagle Voyage Birding Weekend
at The Nature Inn at Bald Eagle State Park
March 2, 3 & 4, 2012

During the peak of the annual Golden Eagle northern migration, spend an event filled weekend in central Pennsylvania viewing these majestic birds soaring overhead from atop Tussey Mountain. Enjoy the comforts and accommodations of the Nature Inn while experiencing the natural beauty of the surrounding forests and fields of Bald Eagle State Park. Stimulate and enhance your awareness of nature and restore your connection to the outdoors in this quiet haven. And while Eagles may be the weekend's main attraction, there will be several other opportunities over the course of the weekend to observe local bird life.

Friday evening will begin with a group dinner followed by an Owl Prowl, including presentation and a nighttime stroll.

Saturday, Inn guests caravan the short drive to Tussey Mountain where we'll watch for a variety of hawks, and of course the main attraction, migrating Golden Eagles. We'll continue on to Shaver's Creek Environmental Learning Center for hearty, hot lunch provided by the Innkeeper followed by a live Birds of Prey program.

We'll return to the Inn for another specially prepared group dinner followed by a more detailed look at eagle and hawk migration in PA with help from the guest speakers & Authors of Birds of Central Pennsylvania.

Round out this birding weekend with a Sunday morning sunrise woodcock trot, breakfast and then an old fashion farewell Bald Eagle bird walk!
